Penn State RB Saquon Barkley was a beast both during the season an at the NFL Combine this year, and many analysts have him projected as the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

However, FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt isn’t completely sold on the former Nittany Lion, saying he doesn’t think Barkley is an every-down back at the NFL level.

On Tuesday, Barkley ed “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” to explain why he doesn’t think Klatt is correct, as you can see in the video below:

“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and you have to respect his opinion,” he said. “But I do disagree with that statement. If you look back at it, he said I’m more Christian McCaffrey than Leonard Fournette. At the end of the day, both of those backs are successful and had great careers.

“If you look back in our careers, I had more carries than Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey had more carries than Leonard Fournette coming into the NFL.”

Barkley’s answer was well thought out and it’s clear he’ll be eager to prove Klatt and his other doubters wrong at the next level.
