The Penn State Nittany Lions are losing a lot of production on offense in the form of RB Saquon Barkley and TE Mike Gesicki, but they did get some good news on Wednesday.
According to a report from Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman, backup QB Tommy Stevens has made a decision about his future.
Per the tweet below, he’ll stay in State College for the 2018 season, remaining as Trace McSorley’s backup:
#PennState fans can exhale. Tommy Stevens IS staying. Here is how that process unfolded: https://t.co/dapGYLqCDq

Stevens will be a redshirt junior this fall and had been exploring transfer options, but getting him back is a big boost for the Nittany Lions.
He’ll still be behind McSorley, but the probable 2019 Penn State starter is showing loyalty to his program and his teammates, and that should be applauded.
